Is LaToya Jackson exploiting Michael Jackson's children? LaToya, 56, is the manager of her late brother's kids Prince, Paris and Blanket. The Jackson three are pursuing various careers in the public spotlight,
and Auntie LaToya is managing them. LaToya, who is also a part of NBC's Celebrity Apprentice, has a new reality show debuting on Oprah's OWN cable station. LaToya's new show will occasionally feature Michael's children.

The Godfather Of Soul James Brown passed away in 2007 at the age of 73, and the fight is still going on over his estate. A judge has ruled that his widow (Tomie Rae Hynie) and children are not entitled to all the money in his estate because Brown wanted a large share to go to charities. The judge ruled that by going against Brown's wishes, it would set a bad example for everyone who states wishes in their will.

With low ratings for American Idol, Judge Mariah Carey has turned into an $18 million dollar bust. Carey may be a great singer, but she has brought nothing to American Idol. Other than getting into catfights
with fellow Judge Nicki Minaj, Carey has been a bore and may not be invited back next season. The ratings for Idol are at their lowest since 2002. When will producers of the show learn stop wasting millions on judges who don’t help the shows ratings.

Lenny is out and Jesse's in. Sexual Healing, the biopic on the latter years of Singer Marvin Gaye, had a major shakeup. Actor Lenny Kravitz was slated to play the late Motown legend, but he's been replaced by Actor Jesse L. Martin of Law & Order fame. Kravitz reportedly dropped out of the production. Martin, who comes from musical theater, has said in the past he's wanted to play Marvin Gaye if the opportunity came up.

We remember Bobby Rogers, a founding member of Motown's first supergroup The Miracles. He was born the same day, year and hospital in Detroit as fellow Miracle Smokey Robinson. Rogers was the cousin of Miracles member Claudette Robinson and the ex-husband of Wanda Rogers of The Marvelettes. Rogers shadowed Smokey Robinson's lead vocal on the classic You Really Got A Hold On Me. Besides enjoying a string of million-selling hits with his group, Rogers' songwriting benefited his fellow Motown labelmates. Rogers usually collaborated with Smokey for The Temptations (My Baby; The Way You Do The Things You Do), Marvin Gaye (Ain't That Peculiar), Mary Wells (What Love Has Joined), The Contours (First I Look At The Purse) and his own group, The Miracles, (Going To A Go-Go; That's What Love Is Made Of). Rogers was
73 and died after a long illness.

Actor/Comedian JB Smoove is on a roll. He is best known from HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm and BET’s Real Husbands Of Hollywood. Now, Smoove has just signed on for a new comedy pilot with Will Arnett. I hope he stays with Real Husbands Of Hollywood.

Is Andre Leon Talley leaving Vogue magazine? The longtime Vogue staffer has just signed a new deal to host a late night talk show.

Basketball Superstar Michael Jordan has asked a judge to throw out a lawsuit by Pamela Smith, who claims that Jordan is the father of her 16-year old son. The woman is a sex instructor who wants a paternity test and money and she wants her son to have the legal name Jordan. If this is true the 16-year old was conceived while Jordan was married to his first wife Juanita. Jordan says he is not the father of the 16-year old. He would like this matter to be settled before he marries for the second time to  Yvette Prieto next month.

Who will be the host of the 2014 Academy Awards? Will it be late night Talk Show Host Jimmy Kimmel? And, speaking of talks shows, will Jimmy Fallon be taking over The Tonight Show next year? An announcement could come in May if Jay Leno finally decides to retire from the show.

Jeffrey Simon Hubbard is being held without bail in connection to the death of Kile Glover, the 11-year old stepson of Usher and son of Usher's ex-wife Tameka and Ryan Glover. Hubbard was the Jet Ski operator who ran over the 11-year in a tragic ski accident last summer. Hubbard was charged with the reckless operation of a vessel, serious injury by vessel and homicide by a vessel. Kile Glover suffered severe brain injuries as a result of the accident and he later died.

Will NBC renew Meagan Good's show Deception? If not, she won’t be lacking for work. Good just signed on for the movie Anchorman II.

Comedian/Actor Kevin Hart is on the cover of Ebony magazine. Hart will co-star in a remake of the Hollywood Brat Pack classic About Last Night. It originally starred Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Elizabeth Perkins and James Belushi. About Last Night is getting a make over and will hit theaters next Valentine's Day 2014. Along with Kevin, there's Michael Ealy, Regina Hall and Joy Bryant.

Comedienne/Actress Aisha Tyler of The Talk has lined up another gig. She is going to be the new host of Whose Line Is it Anyway. The new season kicks off this summer on the CW network.

Supermodel Heidi Klum has been added as a fourth judge on America's Got Talent. Besides Seal's ex, there's former Spicegirl Melanie Brown (Mel B), Shock Jock Howard Stern and Comedian Howie Mandel all on the judges' panel. Mel B is replacing Sharon Osborne, and Nick Cannon is host. Season number 8 kicks off May 28th.

This is the weekend for daylight savings time. Before you go to bed on Saturday night the 9th, Spring Forward! Set your clocks ahead one hour. We will lose an hours sleep, but it will stay lighter longer. It's also a good time to change the batteries on your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide boxes.

A movie version of Shakespeare's Macbeth is being made with Blair Underwood, Terrence Howard and Sanaa Lathan. Speaking of Terrence Howard, his new movie, Dead Man Down, which was shot in Philly opens in theatres this weekend.

Halle Berry's new movie The Call with Morris Chestnut opens in theatres on the 15th.

Mike Tyson is getting a new reality show. Being Mike Tyson debuts in August on the new FOX Sports 1 network.

Don’t look for Maksim Chmerkouskiy on the New Season Of Dancing With The Stars. Apparently, Maks, who was very popular and sexy, let his ego get in the way and was not invited back for season 16. The new season kick offs March 18th with DL Hughley, Country Superstar Wynona Judd, Andy Dick, Football’s
Jacoby Jones and Dorothy Hamill,  just to name a few.

Actress Valerie Harper, 73, is on the latest issue of People magazine talking about her battle with brain cancer. Harper played the popular TV character “Rhoda” on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and then again in the spinoff Rhoda in the 70’s. Harper says her doctors have diagnosed her cancer as incurable with months to live, and that she continues the battle herself.

Soledad O‘Brien is off the dawn patrol at CNN. The new head of the cable news network, Jeff Zucker, is removing her from the morning show Starting Point. Published reports say Chris Cuomo and Erin Burnett
will both replace her. O'Brien says it's not such a bad thing. She's established a production company and for the time being will produce documentaries as an independent supplier for CNN and others. In more CNN news, Commentators Roland Martin and Donna Brazile did not getting their contracts renewed by the network, and that's bringing up CNN's usual problem of the lack of diversity in their newsroom. Meanwhile, former WDAS Intern/MSNBC/Today Anchor Tamron Hall is being wooed by Zucker to come to CNN. Now that the Today Show hosting pool has become so crowded, some are looking for other outlets. Could this work for Tamron?


 

There is a lot of infighting going on with the Sledge family. The famous siblings known as Sister Sledge had the hits We Are Family, My Guy, Got To Love Somebody and He's The Greatest Dancer. They are at odds
over the using of the group's name. Lead Singer Kathy Sledge cannot use the name Sister Sledge in any form when promoting her shows. Debbie, Joni and Kim Sledge have gotten a court order prohibiting Kathy from using the Sister Sledge name. Why would they do this to Kathy? She is the only member that anybody knows because she sang lead on most of the songs. Are the sisters trying to keep Kathy from making money and working? Friends of Kathy Sledge are urging her to write a tell all book and talk about the family struggles against her.

Bobby Brown is headed to jail. Brown must serve 55 days in jail after his third D.U.I. conviction. Brown, 44, was arrested last October after being stopped by police in California. Brown was also hit with four years probation. He will have to attend an 18-month alcohol program and attend AA meetings three times a week. Brown has to turn himself in March 20th. Just last week, Bobby's brother Tommy was arrested for driving on a
suspended license. Tommy played a major role in Bobby's reality show Being Bobby Brown.

Tyler Perry's TBS sitcom For Better Or Worse is moving to Oprah Winfrey's OWN cable network. The show, which stars Tasha Smith and Michael Jai White reprising their roles from the Why Did I Get Married movie franchise will debut its third season on OWN this fall. This is a new addition to the deal Tyler Perry already has with The Mighty O to produce original programming for OWN. There were already two other
series, The Haves And The Have Nots and Love Thy Neighbor, Perry will debut on OWN later this year. Actress Tika Sumpter (Sparkle; The Game) is set to co-star in one of the series, and tweeted out pictures on the set with Oprah.

How hot is Actor Craig Robinson? Well, there is life after the sitcom The Office. The show ends this year, but Robinson is filming a pilot for a new NBC show where he will play a musician who takes a job as a
middle school teacher. Actor Larenz Tate (Why Do Fools Fall In Love; Love Jones) will co-star. Robinson also has a new Tyler Perry produced-movie coming out May called Peeples. It hits
theaters May 10th,
and also stars Kerry Washington, Diahann Carroll, David Alan Grier (In Living Color), Craig Robinson (The Office), S. Epatha Merkerson (Law & Order), Melvin Van Peebles and Tyler James Williams (Everybody Hates Chris, Go On). Tina Gordon Chism wrote and directed while Perry is  producer.

Before Peeples hits the big screen, Tyler Perry will be back in the director's chair just in time for the Easter holiday 2013. His latest big screen project, Temptation: Confessions Of A Marriage Counselor,
stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Lance Gross, Vanessa Williams, Brandy and Kim Kardashian. The movie opens March 29
th. Now speaking of Jurnee Smollett-Bell, in addition to starring in Perry's movie Temptation, she has signed on to join the cast of HBO’s True Blood, which returns in June.

 

Actor Clifton Powell will be headlining an acting seminar on March 16th in Philly. Powell, best known for his movies Menace II Society, Next Friday, Brothers and Ray, is teaming up with Behind The Lenz for the

Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child has a new reality show called My Sister’s Keeper. The show will follow Williams and her sisters and gives a behind the scenes look at her solo gospel career. Williams

Iyanla Van Zandt is back the second season of her hit show Iyanla: Fix My Life kicks off April 13th
on OWN. In the new season, she squares off with Rapper DMX and Sheree Whitfield, formerly of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta.

Oscar Winner Forest Whitaker is currently filming Langston Hughes' Black Nativity. Whitaker is joining a cast that includes Angela Bassett and Tyrese.

Speaking of Tyrese, he and Reverend Run of Run DMC and MTV's  Run's House have teamed up to write a book called Manology. The book is about relationships what makes them work and what makes them fail. The book is geared towards women. The book Manology is a guide to regaining relationship confidence and weeding and cutting out cheaters.

Beyonce is launching The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. She'll be in Philly July 25th at the Wells Fargo Center and at The Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on July 26th.
