Singer Bobby Womack is battling Alzheimer's disease. Womack, 68, says the doctors have discovered it in it’s early stages. Womack has had a tough year health-wise. Last year he battled pneumonia, prostate cancer  and a colon cancer scare. Womack is known for the classics IfYou Think You’re Lonely Now, Harry Hippie and That's The Way I Feel About Cha.

Halle Berry, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle and Bishop TD Jakes are going to be honored at the 2013 BET Honors. Gabrielle Union returns as host and the show airs on BET February 11^th.

Get ready for the never ending pregnancy of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. The not-married couple is having a baby in early summer. Kim K is still married to Kris Humphries. Kim mom, super Manager Kris Jenner, is trying to cut a deal to get the most for the baby pictures. The only problem is..... Kanye is not a well liked celebrity so the pregnancy may be all about Kim. Biracial babiesdon’t get their equal share of the money in the celebrity photos biz, just ask Mariah Carey and Robert DeNiro. Can Kris Jenner score millions for these baby photos and break tradition. Janet has converted to Islam, and the wedding is scheduled for the spring. I hear her ring is so big, she keeps it locked up. I wonder if she'll continue with her sexy image after she jumps the broom. Will she still be Janet or Mrs. Al Mina if you're nasty?

We’ve got more baby news! Congrats to Singer Shakira! She and her boyfriend are expecting to deliver any day now. Reports of her giving birth to a son already were confirmed to have been a twitter prank. On Monday, March 18^th, Shakira will join the lineup of NBC's singing reality show TheVoice along with Usher. They'll join  Judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

Are more changes coming to the FOX show The X-Factor? L.A. Reid has already left the show, and now Britney Spears could be next. Sources say she was paid $15 million to be a judge on the show but didn't bring any excitement. Who will they replace her with?

Season Two of the NBC show Smash kicks off Tuesday, February 5^th. The new season will feature Oscar Winner Jennifer Hudson and Sheryl Lee Ralph.

We remember Singer Fontella Bass. She was battling health issues at the time of her death. Bass died at the age of 72 and was best known for her 1965 hit song Rescue Me. Bass was the older sister of Singer David Peaston. He died last February of complications due to diabetes.

What's ahead for Jamie Foxx in 2013? After the success of Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, he’s going to play the President Of The United States in the movie White House Down with Channing Tatum and Garcelle Beauvais and he is set to play the villain “Electro” in the  new Spiderman II movie. One project that Foxx won’t be doing, ids the movie Skank Robbers with Martin Lawrence. Foxx andLawrence were going to reprise their characters Wanda and She Nay Nay from Martin and Living color. They even did a promo sketch for BET but Foxx says Lawrence no longer wants to do the project.

After a crazy 2012 filled with mayhem and arrests, what is going to happen to Comedian Katt Williams? Something is wrong with him, and he needs help and someone in his circle needs should step up to the plate. He is either going to wind up dead or in jail for a long time. Last week, four kids were removed from his house. The house was armed with guns and drugs and were found by authorities The children were placed in protective custody with the court saying the home was a safetyhazard for the kids. Williams says he had the guns in the house to protect the kids.

Look for Denzel Washington to return to Broadway in the spring of 2014. I hear it could be in a revival of A Raisin In The Sun.

What’s going on with TJ Holmes and the BET network? After much fanfare, Holmes late night talk show Don’t Sleep was scaled back from a four night a week show to a weekly one-hour show. It appeared BET was not as committed to the show. TJ left CNN for the BET gig. Is there trouble in paradise? Will TJ stay with BET. This past weekend he was anchoring at MSNBC. Let’s just say he looked good.

Money must be calling because it appears Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada are back together. After their short-lived marriage and head butting incident, why would the two reconcile? They love the spotlight and they both need the money. Now that they are back together ….......................Maybe they can get that VH1 Money and get their reality show back on track.

Reality Show Star Hoopz, a.k.a. Nikki Alexander is proving there is life after Shaquille O’Neal. Hoopz dated the basketball superstar but their romance came to a crashing halt after she insulted his manhood complaining about his short third leg. Hoopz and her three other sisters have just completed a pilot for VH1 called The Alexander Sisters.

The 70^th Annual Golden Globe Award nominations are out and Django Unchained, Lincoln, Les Miserables and Silver Linings Playbook lead. Denzel Washington has been nominated for his role in Flight. The NBC show Smash also got a TV nod. The Golden Globes air January 13^th on NBC.

Nominations were also announced for the SAG Awards (The Screen Actors Guild Awards). Quentin Tarantino's critically acclaimed Django Unchained didn’t make the cut because it wasn’t previewed in time. The movies up for Best Picture include Les Miserables, Lincoln and Silver Linings Playbook. Denzel Washington was nominated for his role in Flight and Alfre Woodard for her role in Lifetime's Steel Magnolias.

Former NBA Great Julius “Dr. J” Erving is coming to TV. Dr J will be guest starring on the January 17^th edition of the NBC sitcom The Office.

The man Jay Leno beat out for The Tonight show 20 years ago was CBS Late Show Host David Letterman. Letterman will be sitting down with Oprah Winfrey January 6^th for her Next Chapter series on the OWN cable network. For the first time Letterman will talk about his 2009 sex scandal where he was being extorted for money. Letterman was reportedly fooling around with his female staff workers. He'll tell The Mighty O about that time and repairing his very publicly damaged marriage.

Get ready for Beyonce in the new year: She’s performing halftime at the Superbowl; she’s producing a documentary about her life that will air on HBO February 16^th; and she has just signed on as the new spokesperson for Pepsi. The $50 million Pepsi deal was announced this week and includes Beyonce's picture on Pepsi cans with the soda giant sponsoring all her major events. She’s also going to be the cover girl for the March issue of Vogue magazine.

The 55^th Annual Grammy Awards are happening February 10^th on CBS. Nominees include Melanie Fiona, Frank Ocean, Anthony Hamilton, R Kelly, Miguel, Rihanna, Dave Koz, Estelle, Usher, Anita Baker, SWV, Tamia, Beyonce, Tyrese and John Legend.

The 2013 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony will air on HBO May 18^th.
This year's inductees include Donna Summer, Public Enemy, Heart, Rush, and special honors going to Quincy Jones and Producer Lou Adler. Summer, whose induction her fans had long called for, died in
May from lung cancer.

The 44^th Annual NAACP Image Award nominees have also been announced. The movies Flight, Django Unchained, Beasts Of The Southern Wild, Red Tails and Good Deeds have all been nominated for Best Picture. Steve Harvey's wildly successful Think Like A Man got only one nomination for Best Supporting Actress: Taraji P. Henson. Jamie Foxx and Denzel Washington got nominations as well as the reality show X-Factor. The hit ABC drama Scandal got nominations as well as the Lifetime TVmovie Steel Magnolias with Queen Latifah and Jill Scott. Alicia Keys and Bruno Mars led the way with the music nominations. Locally, Trombonist Jeff Bradshaw got a nomination for Best Jazz Album for hislatest CD Bone Appetit. Local Author Jim Smith, Jr. (Mr. Energy) got a literature nod for his book The No Excuse Guide To Success No Matter What Your Boss Or Life Throws At You. The NAACP Image Awards air February 1^st on NBC.

Terrell Owens has got a job. Owens had been hoping to get back in the NFL, but that didn’t happen. Owens has joined the reality show Stars In Danger: The High Dive. The show debuts Wednesday, January 9^th on FOX.

Just in time for the Easter holiday 2013, it’s the latest big screen project from Tyler Perry. Temptation: Confessions Of A Marriage Counselor stars Jurnee Smollett Bell, Lance Gross, Vanessa Williams, Brandy and Kim Kardashian. The movie opens March 29^th. Perry also two new shows debuting on OWN. It's part of his exclusive deal with Oprah Winfrey's cable network. The Haves And Have Nots is a drama about a family and their housekeeper, and Love Thy Neighbor is a sitcom set in a diner.

When the TV One music series Unsung returns January 23^rd. Look for profiles on The Whispers, Eddie Kendricks and Johnny Gill, just to name a few. The Johnny Gill segment will air in March.

Sherri Shepherd of The View has launched her wig line Lux Hair. The line has 18 different colors, 12 wigs and varying lengths.

Get ready for the Smiths! Will Smith reunites with his son Jaden on the big screen for the M. Night Shyamalan movie After Earth. The movie opens in theatres next June.

Marlon Wayans latest movie, A Haunted House, hits theatres January 11^th. The movie also stars Essence Atkins, Cedric The Entertainer and Affion Crockett.

The UNCF Evening Of Stars will air on BET January 27^th and will hosted by Anthony Anderson. Chaka Khan, Wayne Brady, Eric Benet, Tracee Ellis Ross, Keenen Ivory Wayans and Charlie Wilson will also be appearing. Speaking of “Uncle Charlie,” his new CD, Love Charlie, arrives in stores January 29^th.

After 30 years, Actress Cicely Tyson is returning to Broadway. She makes her return next April in the production The Trip To Bountiful. Tyson plays an elderly woman who returns to her small Texas town. Vanessa Williams and Cuba Gooding, Jr. have also been added to the cast.

I had a chance to catch up with Actor Morris Chestnut. Chestnut is best known for his roles in the movies Boyz In The Hood, The Brothers and The Best Man. Chestnut is the executive producer and host of the new docu-series Vindicated, which airs on BET Tuesday nights at 10:30pm. Chestnut teams up with the Innocence Project, an organization dedicated to exonerating men and women who were wrongfully convicted. Next year, look for Chestnut on both the TV and silver screens. He has been added to the cast of the Showtime drama Nurse Jackie, and he is co-starring as Halle Berry's love interest in the movie The Hive. Chestnut also confirmed to me that he will be in the sequel to TheBest Man.

Actress Regina King is going to be all over your TV in 2013. Season five of her TNT drama Southland returns February 13^th, and she is joining the cast of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory.

Kimora Lee Simmons has a new show launching on the Style network on January 22^nd
called Kimora's House Of Fab.

The R&B Music Hall Of Fame will launch new inductees May 5^th 2013. New Inductees include Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, The Supremes, The Miracles and Ray Charles.

Come See About Me: The Mary Wilson-Supremes Collection kicks off in January at the African American Museum. The collection will be on display from January 25^th until June 22^nd, and it features over 30 of the Supremes' most glamorous gowns. The African American Museum is located at 7^thand Arch Streets.

Alicia Keys recently announced her 2013 tour. It launches in March with opening act Singer Miguel. Check her out on the cover of the latest issue of Essence magazine.

Meagan Good's new NBC drama, Deception, premieres January 7^th and also stars Laz Alonso. S. Epatha Merkerson, from Law And Order fame, is also joining the cast as Good's mother.

The new season of American Idol kicks off January 16^th on FOX, and it looks like new Judge Nicki Minaj will be the mean one, the new Simon Cowell. The new season should be interesting with fellow Judges Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, Randy Jackson and Host Ryan Seacrest.

Season 2 of the NBC show Smash kicks off Tuesday, February 5^th. Jennifer Hudson and Sheryl Lee Ralph will be featured in the second season. Wait until you see Jennifer Hudson. She looks and sounds amazing. Sheryl Lee Ralph has also been added to the cast of the Instant Mom. The show will star Tia Mowry (The Game, Tia & Tamera) and Michael Boatman. The show is about a successful Doctorwho is married to a young party girl. The show  will air on Nick At Nite.
