Bobby Brown needs help! For the second time this year, he has been arrested for drunk driving. Brown left rehab too early, and now he is paying the price. He left early to fulfill his tour commitments with New Edition's and the group's 30th anniversary. Brown needs to make money, but he also has a drinking problem. Brown is due to be honored with New Edition in a few weeks at The Soul Train Music Awards. What will he do? He’s gotta stop drinking and get his life together. Will he deal with this on his BET reality show? Meanwhile, his daughter with Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kris, is making headlines with her aunt Pat Houston, grandmom Cissy Houston and play brother/boyfriend Nick Gordon with their new show The Houstons: On Our Own. Is the family doing their Lifetime reality show for the money?

Flavor Flav could be headed to jail. The reality star and hype man for Public Enemy faces a judge on November 20th. Last week, he was arrested after an altercation with his fiancée Elizabeth Trujillo and her son. During an argument with Trujillo, Flav pushed her down. When her 17-year old son Gibran stepped in, Flav started chasing him knives. The cops were called and Flav was arrested. If he gets a felony conviction, he faces up to six years in prison. If he gets a misdemeanor, he faces up to six months in jail.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs was involved in a car accident in Los Angeles. No one went to the hospital despite all parties involved complaining of pain. Combs wasn't driving, and police are still investigating.


 

Vernon Winfrey is fighting back against charges made by his estranged wife Barbara Winfrey. Barbara says 79-year old Vernon cheated on her and pulled a gun on her. Vernon says he cheated years ago, but he apologized. About the gun, he says it was the gun he keeps by his bed. Vernon claims his wife cheated by him and he wants out of their 12-year marriage. Barbara has also accused her husband and his daughter, Oprah Winfrey, of conspiring to get her out of her own
home.

Comedian Katt Williams was arrested last week after pulling a gun on Comedian/Actor Faizon Love. The incident took place at a Hollywood night club. The two comedians got into an altercation over money that Williams said Love owed him.

Is this just a publicity stunt between Tamar Braxton and her husband Vince Herbert? Their WE reality show, Tamar & Vince, has generated little buzz, and there were reports that the power couple had split. Don’t believe the hype. It was all to draw interests to their show. The couple is still together.

When America's Next Top Model returns with Cycle 20 next summer, look for male models being added to the mix. Producer Tyra Banks is said to be excited about the new changes. One thing she may not be excited about is news reports about her 24-year old boyfriend Rob Evans. Evans is
wanted for assaulting a man earlier this year and almost killing him.

The news magazine Newsweek will stop publishing by the end of the year. In a sign of the times, the magazine is going all digital.

Tyler Perry's latest movie Alex Cross didn’t do well at the box office. The movie made over $11 million. In the previous Alex Cross series, the Morgan Freeman versions did better. I hope this doesn’t stop Perry from trying other projects besides his own. In March, his new movie The Marriage Counselor with Kim Kardashian and Brandy hits theatres, but many people say they won’t go see the movie because Kim K is in it.

Singer Tank has launched his own record label. Soundbase Entertainment will feature a lot artists that Tank has discovered.

Singer Charlie Wilson is back. Uncle Charlie's latest single is called My Love Is All I Have.

Rocker Mick Jagger is producing a movie about The Godfather Of Soul James Brown. Tate Taylor, the director of the Oscar winning movie The Help (Viola Davis and Oscar Winner Octavia Spencer) has been tapped to direct this bio on Soul Brother Number One. Brown led an extraordinary life from extreme poverty to a soul legend whose career spanned over six decades. Brown was one of the most influential artists in all of music history. Now the big question is who is going to play him? When Spike Lee was going to do the project, he wanted Wesley Snipes to star in the movie.

The TV show Private Practice is coming to an end after six year years. The Shonda Rhimes produced spinoff from Grey's Anatomy stars Taye Diggs, Kate Walsh and Benjamin Bratt.

Remember the movie Drumline with Nick Cannon and Zoe Saldana? Well, Cannon is
producing a sequel, Drumline II, and a TV spinoff for the VH1 network.

Chris Tucker is returning to the silver screen. The actor/comedian will team up with Robert DeNiro, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook. The film is about the complications faced by a  man who leaves a mental institution, moves back with his parents and tries to reconcile with his wife. Silver Linings Playbook hits theaters November 21st.

Rocsi Diaz has joined Entertainment Tonight as a correspondent. Diaz has had a rough year getting dropped from BET’s 106 & Park and a failed romance with Eddie Murphy.

Chilli from TLC has a new career. She is now a Beach Body coach. Chilli is even doing meet and greet workout events for the fitness program.

Is Chilli's ex Usher a Diva? Usher is going to be one of the judges on the spring edition of the NBC show The Voice. Sources say he is trying to take over segments and turning people off with his demands.

Mike Tyson is ready to tell all in a new book about his life. Tyson's biography, Undisputed Truth, comes out next summer and will detail his life as a heavyweight champ, his marriage to Actress Robin
Givens, blowing a $400 million fortune, the ear biting incident with fellow Boxer Evander Holyfield, his time in prison for rape and the death of one of his children, daughter Exodus. Tyson recently launched his non-profit organization, Mike Tyson Cares, which focuses on at-risk youth.

Kevin Hart's BET show Real Husbands Of Hollywood debuts in March on BET. The comedy/improv-reality show takeoff features a who’s who of stars including Robin Thicke, Boris Kodjoe, Nick Cannon, Nelly, Duane Martin, Faizon Love, JB Smoove and Anthony Anderson just to name a few. Hart has also signed on for a new movie with Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone where Hart plays a fight promoter bringing two old fighters back into the ring.

Magic Johnson recently announced that in addition to bringing back Soul Train as a variety show, he wants to do a movie based on the life of Soul Train Founder Don Cornelius.

The Michael Jackson BAD documentary directed by Spike Lee will air on ABC on Thanksgiving night.

The BET network will be unveiling a new gospel reality show starring Karen Clark Sheard.

Beyonce will be the halftime headliner at the Superbowl. The Superbowl takes place in New Orleans February 3rd, 2013 and will air on CBS. Beyonce has also signed on as a new spokesperson for Pepsi.

Pop Star Rihanna is on the latest issue of Vogue magazine. What will 2013 hold for the pop princess? Could it be marriage and a baby with Chris Brown? Despite their turbulent past, the two are still crazy about each other.

Comedian/Actor Mike Epps has joined the cast of the movie Nina. Epps will play the late Comedian Richard Pryor. Actress Zoe Saldana will play Jazz Great Nina Simone.

At the movies, it's Middle Of Nowhere from Writer/Director Ava DuVernay. The film stars Lorraine Toussaint (Law & Order), Dondre Whitfield (The Cosby Show), Sharon Lawrence (NYPD Blue), and Omari Hardwick (Sparkle, For Colored Girls), and follows a wife's journey of self discovery after her husband is sentenced to eight years in prison. Middle Of Nowhere is now playing at the Riverview Plaza in town.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are on the cover of the latest edition of Ebony magazine. Oscar Winner Halle Berry is on the cover of the latest issue of InStyle magazine. BET's Don't Sleep Host TJ Holmes is on the cover of Uptown. Actress Kerry Washington from the ABC drama Scandal covers this week's Jet magazine.

Denzel Washington latest movie Flight opens in theatres November 2nd. The movie also stars John Goodman and Don Cheadle.

The new season of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta kicks off Sunday, November 4th
on Bravo. Look for plenty of drama with Nene Leakes and newcomer Model/Actress Kenya Moore.

In Whitney Houston news, get ready for tributes to her this fall. First up, the 18-track tribute album, I Will Always Love You: The Best Of Whitney Houston, comes out November 13th.  The coffee table book, Whitney: Tribute To An Icon, comes out November 27th. The Lifetime network presents their TV special remembering Whitney Houston, which will feature home videos and interviews with mom Cissy Houston, brother Gary, daughter Bobbi Kris and sister-in-law Pat Houston. On November 16th, it’s A Grammy Salute To Whitney Houston with Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Yolanda Adams and CeCe Winans that will air on CBS.

Apollo Live is the Centric network's singing reality show, and it kicks off
Saturday, December 1
st. Comedian Tony Rock will be hosting and the judges include Gladys
Knight, Michael Bivins, and Doug E Fresh.

Speaking of The Empress Of Soul, Gladys Knight is also part of the ensemble for one of the two sitcoms being produced by comedian Byron Allen. The sitcom The First Family is about an African American First Family in the White House. Christopher B. Duncan (The Jamie Foxx Show) and
Kellita Smith (The Bernie Mac Show) play the President and First Lady. Also starring are Gladys Knight, Marla Gibbs, Jackee Harry and John Witherspoon. The second Allen-produced show is Mr. Box Office
with Bill Bellamy, Vivica A. Fox, Jon Lovitz and Keshia Knight Pulliam. Bellamy plays an A-List movie star who is sentenced to community service teaching at an underprivileged high school. The First Family and Mr. Box Office both air Sundays beginning at 8pm on PHL17. Vivica A. Fox is also starring on the show Prank My Mom, which airs Tuesday nights at 10pm on Lifetime.

Jamie Foxx returns to the big screen this December in the Quentin Tarantino’s film Django. The movie, about a former slave turned bounty hunter trying to rescue his wife from slavery, also stars
Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington. Foxx has also signed on for the movie White House Down with Channing Tatum. Foxx will play the President Of The United States, who is taken hostage in the White House. Foxx recently revealed plans to produce and possibly direct a film with fellow Comedian Kevin Hart.


 

Jill Scott has been added to the cast of David E. Talbert's film Baggage Claim. Paula Patton stars in the movie about a flight attendant who has 30 days and 30,000 miles to find a husband. Derek Luke and Octavia Spencer are also part of the cast.

Cedric The Entertainer will be hosting the Soul Train Awards, which will air on the BET and Centric networks on Sunday, November 25th. New Edition is getting a Lifetime Achievement Award. R Kelly has been nominated for Album Of The Year, and he's also up for the Ashford &
Simpson Songwriter Of The Year Award. Other nominees include Usher, Estelle and John Legend.

Come See About Me: The Mary Wilson-Supremes Collection kicks off in January at the African American Museum. The collection will be on display from January 25th until June 22nd,
and it features over 30 of the Supremes' most glamorous gowns. The African American Museum is located at 7
th and Arch Streets.

On November 16th, Spike TV is doing a tribute special to Eddie Murphy celebrating his
30-year career. Eddie Murphy: One Night Only will feature his work in film, musical performances and sketch comedy.

TV One's popular UnSung documentary series returns in January for a sixth season. I love this show. Their newest profiles will include The Whispers, Lou Rawls, Eddie Kendricks and Isaac Hayes, just to name a few.

On November 9th, it’s the movie LUV. The film stars Common, Megan Good, Charles Dutton and Dennis Haysbert.

The American Music Awards air November 18th on ABC. Nicky Minaj is scheduled to perform.

Look for R Kelly and Tamia on Wednesday and Thursday, November 28th and 29th at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby. Kelly says his next CD, Black Panties, is coming out next year. Tamia's new CD is called Beautiful Surprise, which is also the name of her latest hit single.

Sunny Anderson is back with a new show on the Food network. Homemade In America airs Saturday mornings at 9:30am on the Food network.

Singer Kem is getting ready for the holidays. He has a new CD, What Christmas Means in stores now.

Singer Anita Baker is back. Her CD, Only Forever, is coming out this fall featuring the first single Lately, a cover of the Tyrese song.

Get ready for Black Girls Rock. This year's honorees include Alicia Keys, Kerry Washington, Susan L. Taylor and Dionne Warwick. The show airs Sunday, November 4th on BET. Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King are returning as hosts. Performers include Brandy and Keyshia Cole.

Tina and her sister Erica , a.k.a. Mary Mary, will return December 13th to the WE network for their reality series Mary Mary.
