(Providence, RI) -- Rhode Island is now the tenth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Governor Lincoln Chafee signed legislation within hours of a bill passing the state House of Representatives. The law will allow same-sex marriage as well as let couples who have already entered into civil unions to change their status to married. The law will go into effect August 1st.
