(970 WFLA - Tampa, FL) -- The man accused of kidnapping his two young sons in Florida is now reportedly in Cuba along with the children. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says authorities have information that Joshua Hakken and his wife Sharyn took their sons Cole and Chase to the island nation. "El Neuvo Herald" is reporting U.S. consular officials are working with the family who are now in the custody of Cuban immigration officials.
Hakken allegedly took his family to Cuba in a sailboat after forcibly taking the boys from his mother-in-law's home in Tampa home. The kidnapping came a day after a judge in Louisiana severed Hakken's paternal rights.
