(NEWSER) – In yet another nontraditional act, Pope Francis has reached out to atheists and agnostics in a letter to an Italian newspaper. Francis told atheists that they should "abide by their own conscience" and that "God's mercy" extends to them, too. (They weren't his first welcoming words to atheists.) Newsy reports:
